Competition Committee warns Yandex Go over sharp price increases
The Competition Committee has issued a formal warning to Yandex Go following a significant rise in taxi fare prices on its platform. Consumer complaints regarding the sharp price hikes prompted the regulatory body to investigate the situation.

Recent monitoring of service prices on Yandex Go revealed a sudden surge in taxi fares during the first ten days of December. This price fluctuation has raised concerns among consumers, who have reported the issue to the Competition Committee.
Under the "Competition Law" of Uzbekistan, companies with a dominant market position are prohibited from exploiting their dominance by setting excessively high prices. The Competition Committee has pointed out that such actions could constitute a violation of the law, as it is illegal for monopolistic entities to set prices unfairly.
The Competition Committee has warned Yandex Go to reduce its taxi fares and review its pricing algorithm. The regulatory body emphasized that any further violations may lead to additional measures.
Yandex Go has been given a directive to ensure that its pricing practices align with the legal framework and promote fair competition in the market.
