Latvia may ease visa regime for citizens of Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olim Abdullaev, met with the Latvian Ambassador, Reinis Trokša, to discuss bilateral cooperation.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on expanding collaboration in the field of labor migration.
During the discussions, the parties addressed several key topics, including:
• Organizing the employment of Uzbek citizens in Latvia
• Simplifying the visa regime
• Developing a legal framework for labor migration
• Establishing joint educational institutions and centers, and
• Attracting specialists from Latvia.
Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between the relevant agencies of the two countries to protect the rights of labor migrants. They reaffirmed their commitment to further developing bilateral relations in the area of external labor migration.
