Citizens of Uzbekistan in the U.S. can no longer use old passports to return home
Old (non-biometric) passports are no longer valid for returning to Uzbekistan, according to the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in New York, as reported by the Foreign Ministry’s press secretary.
It was clarified that old passports lost their validity on January 1, 2020. Therefore, holders of expired or still-valid old passports must obtain a return certificate through Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions in the U.S. (embassy and consulate).
Earlier, it was reported that Costa Rica is prepared to accept Uzbek citizens deported from the U.S.
Later, the Trump administration introduced a mobile application allowing undocumented migrants in the U.S. to "self-deport."
