Kazakhstan plans to allocate over $50M to establish industrial cooperation center on border with Uzbekistan
The Senate of Kazakhstan’s Parliament has approved a law to construct the “Central Asia” International Industrial Cooperation Center in the border region with Uzbekistan.

According to the Kazinform international news agency, the industrial cooperation center will be located near Kazakhstan’s “Atameken” and Uzbekistan’s “Guliston” border checkpoints.
The center is expected to feature production facilities, warehouses, and transport infrastructure, which will accelerate cargo transportation, reduce logistics costs, streamline supply chain participants, and lower product costs for end consumers.
“The total area of the center has been set at 100 hectares, and it will be granted the status of a regional industrial zone,” the source reported. “Preliminary estimates suggest that the required investment will amount to approximately 27 billion tenge (around $54 million).”
The article also quoted Deputy Alisher Satvaldiev, who stated, “This international industrial cooperation center will contribute to job creation, the processing of agricultural and industrial products, and the development of production in pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, chemicals, leather, textiles, and sewing industries.”
In early February, lawmakers approved a draft law titled “On the Ratification of the Agreement Between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Regulating the Activities of the ‘Central Asia’ International Industrial Cooperation Center.”
Additionally, plans are underway to potentially establish a Kazakhstan trade center in Tashkent and an Uzbekistan trade center in Astana.
