Uzbekistan is actively enhancing cooperation with the United States in the areas of migration policy and the repatriation of its citizens, the MFA spokesperson reported.

As part of bilateral agreements, a special charter flight will be arranged on April 30 from New York to Tashkent to return Uzbek nationals who are staying in the U.S. without legal grounds and are listed for deportation.

This repatriation initiative aims to uphold the rights of Uzbek citizens facing difficult situations abroad and is being carried out in line with international standards, obligations, and human rights frameworks. It specifically applies to those who have violated visa conditions or exceeded their legal stay in the United States. The process is guided by humanitarian and legal standards to ensure the safe and dignified return of these individuals.

The charter flight is being organized in close coordination between the consular and migration services of both countries. All procedures are being conducted with strict adherence to the laws of Uzbekistan and the United States, and with the utmost respect for the rights of the repatriated individuals.

"This measure is part of Uzbekistan's comprehensive policy to regulate migration flows, provide legal protection and social and legal reintegration for its citizens abroad, and ensure their safe and humane return to their homeland.

"Uzbekistan will continue to develop its migration policy and remains committed to supporting and protecting its citizens under any circumstances," the statement said.

It is worth noting that in late February, seven Uzbek citizens deported from the U.S. were brought back to Tashkent. Initially, they were scheduled to be sent to Costa Rica, but as a result of negotiations, they were returned to Uzbekistan.
