According to the report, an enforcement document was submitted to the BCE’s Sharof Rashidov office requiring L.M. to pay child support to O.L. for the maintenance of one child. However, the man failed to fulfill his obligation and accumulated a debt of 4 million UZS.

To settle the debt, the man collected coins in denominations of 10, 50, 100, and 500 UZS and wanted to hand them over personally to the recipient.

He admitted that he deliberately wanted to give the coins directly to his former spouse so that she would be forced to spend her time counting them.

However, BCE officers involved bank staff to properly count the coins. The debt amount was then transferred to the mother’s bank card through official channels, in the presence of both the debtor and the state enforcement officer.

It is worth noting that over 3,800 families in Uzbekistan have reportedly reconciled following public awareness efforts about child support obligations.
