The total outstanding debt for drinking and wastewater services in Uzbekistan has reached 794 billion UZS, with 577.5 billion UZS owed by households and 216.6 billion UZS by legal entities. This was announced by Akmal Murodov, spokesperson for Uzsuvtaminot JSC, during a press briefing held at the Agency for Information and Mass Communications (AIMC).

It was noted that, as a result of ongoing efforts in 2025 to expand access to centralized drinking water, 81.5% of the population is now covered.

As part of the “Spring–Summer” preparation program, water supply organizations carried out cleaning, washing, and disinfection of 46 sedimentation tanks, 1,601 reservoirs, and 6,026 water towers using their own funds. Additionally, 1,060 pumping units and 1,607 kilometers of drinking water and wastewater pipelines across the country were either repaired or fully renovated.
