On July 23, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was presented with updates on the current activities of the Accounts Chamber and ongoing efforts to improve the execution of budgetary obligations, according to the presidential press service.

In the past two years, the Accounts Chamber has introduced modern audit methodologies, including financial, compliance, performance, and strategic audits. The institution’s powers have been significantly expanded, and outdated approaches to auditing public funds have been revised.

As a result of audit measures in the first half of 2025, inefficient budget spending totaling UZS 5.6 trillion was prevented, and an additional UZS 5 trillion in potential budgetary reserves was identified.

As the economy continues to grow, so does the need for strengthened financial oversight. Digitalization has become one of the key tools in this effort. The “Remote Audit” system has already helped eliminate violations amounting to UZS 4 trillion.

The president instructed that artificial intelligence elements be integrated into control processes to identify and eliminate factors that contribute to financial violations.

The presentation also highlighted the effectiveness of the financial control situation centers that were established last year in 12 ministries. This system will soon be introduced in 10 more agencies. Additionally, internal audit and control mechanisms in budgetary organizations will be improved, and seamless data exchange between institutions and the Accounts Chamber will be established.

Progress on the “People’s Oversight” platform was also discussed. The platform allows citizens to report issues related to construction, infrastructure, housing and utilities, transportation, and other areas. All relevant authorities will be connected to the system to enable prompt responses.

Further work is underway to enhance the platform with AI-based tools, establish a vertical control structure, and operate dedicated call centers.
