Uzbekistan sees 48% surge in foreign leisure visitors in first half of 2025
Most tourists are arriving from Russia, Central Asian countries, and China.

In the first half of the year, 783,700 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for leisure purposes, according to the National Statistics Committee. Compared with the same period in 2024, the country welcomed 255,000 more overseas tourists – an increase of about 48%.
Russia remains the leader in terms of tourist arrivals. From January to June, 166,600 Russian tourists visited the country, accounting for 21.2% of the total.
Turkmenistan ranked second, with 123,000 visitors (15.7%), followed by Kazakhstan in third place with 77,700 tourists (9.9%). There was also a significant influx from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan – 71,600 (9.1%) and 49,100 (6.3%) visitors respectively.
Among non-CIS countries, China holds the top spot with 39,100 tourists (5% of the total). It is followed by Turkey with 29,300 visits (3.7%), India with 22,000 (2.8%), Italy with 18,600 (2.4%), and South Korea with just under 15,000 visitors (1.9%).
According to the committee’s data, from January to May, Uzbekistan was visited by a total of 4.2 million foreign citizens for all purposes of travel. Kyrgyzstan topped the list with 1.28 million visitors, followed by Tajikistan (993,700) and Kazakhstan (889,600).
