President Mirziyoyev announces major investments for Tashkent’s development
On July 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yangi Kamolon neighborhood in the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent, where he inspected local conditions and met with residents.

Reportedly, more than 4,600 people live in Yangi Kamolon. It was noted that over 60 retail and service outlets currently employ many of the neighborhood’s youth. This year, a crafts center, stores selling farm produce and confectionery goods, a bakery, and a private medical clinic were opened in the area. As a result, unemployment in the neighborhood has been completely eliminated.
During the visit, information was also presented on the activities of the "Reform Headquarters" in the Shaykhontohur district.
“Shaykhontohur has a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship. Even today, it remains a major source of employment and income for the local population. Therefore, based on Shaykhontohur’s example, we will adopt a new action plan to further develop the services sector,” said President Mirziyoyev.
To enhance public safety and prevent crime, a situational monitoring center was set up in the office of the neighborhood inspector. This center is integrated with surveillance cameras installed in apartment building corridors and linked to internal affairs security systems. It was noted that not a single crime has been reported in the neighborhood this year.
The "Yangi Kamolon" management service company serves 21 apartment buildings in the neighborhood. Maintenance teams and specialized equipment are on constant standby. A billing system has been introduced to manage utility payments. This year, central heating pipelines were insulated, electrical networks and apartment building corridors were repaired, and new elevators were installed in some buildings.
The President instructed that future management service centers be constructed as multi-story buildings to include vocational training facilities for youth and household service outlets. He also emphasized the importance of establishing small libraries like the one in Yangi Kamolon in other neighborhoods across the city. A conversation with local residents took place in the neighborhood's communal gathering area.
“In recent years, many new enterprises have been established, and our economy continues to grow. Alongside this, we are raising a new generation of young people. We must start thinking now about their education, health, and employment opportunities. That is why we are attracting $8 billion in investment to Tashkent this year. This will enable the creation of new jobs, educational institutions, and infrastructure projects in Shaykhontohur as well,” the president stated.
