The area, located across the Beshqurgon and Tirsakobod neighborhoods, spans 320 hectares and was designated a small industrial zone following a presidential decree issued on July 3, 2023. Since then, improvements in transportation, engineering communications, and road infrastructure have laid the groundwork for the growth of industry and entrepreneurship.
Today, the zone features energy-efficient, environmentally safe production facilities built to international standards. The number of enterprises operating in the area has reached 531, creating nearly 20,000 jobs. The zone boasts a production capacity of 6.8 trillion Uzbek soums annually, and this year, 50 enterprises are set to export products worth $180 million — a level of industrial performance unprecedented in Chilanzar’s history.
During his visit, President Mirziyoyev toured the “Tarleplast” plant and observed the manufacturing process.
This $25 million project features 12 types of state-of-the-art equipment imported from leading European companies. The facility is capable of producing 90,000 tons of iron pipes and steel profiles per year, generating an estimated annual output worth 900 billion UZS. The enterprise currently employs around 120 permanent staff.
Importantly, the plant’s high-pressure, impact-resistant pipes are competitive in terms of type, size, and pricing. This is evidenced by the $4 million worth of exports delivered last year to Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Plans are in place to further expand the company’s export geography.
President Mirziyoyev also attended an exhibition of goods produced in the industrial zone, and was briefed on upcoming industrial initiatives.
Among the future developments are a multi-story production facility and a mono center. These additions are expected to enable the launch of 100 new projects and create an additional 3,000 jobs. The planned projects span sectors such as construction, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, printing, automotive manufacturing, textiles, and confectionery.
The President engaged in discussions with entrepreneurs, offering guidance on producing value-added products, expanding employment opportunities, and enhancing service development.
