University entrance exams begin for over 670,000 applicants in Uzbekistan
This year, 671,397 applicants are set to take part in Uzbekistan’s university and professional college entrance exams. The tests will be held in two shifts daily over a 10-day period.

On July 14, entrance exams for the 2025/2026 academic year officially began across the country.
From 06:30 to 08:00 in the morning, applicants arrived at designated testing centers, underwent security checks, and were seated in exam rooms. The test began at 08:00, with questions distributed in sealed, officially stamped paper packets and opened in front of the candidates.
Currently, exams are being held at 65 large-capacity, closed-type venues nationwide. The entire process is monitored via surveillance cameras and exam proctors to ensure transparency and order.
Each shift consists of 1,169 groups, accommodating 35,070 applicants, meaning 70,140 candidates are tested each day.
According to official statistics:
- A total of 671,397 applicants registered for the exams.
- Of these, 426,685 (63.6%) are high school graduates of the current year.
- In terms of gender, 361,019 (53.8%) of the candidates are female, while 310,378 (46.2%) are male.
The regions with the highest number of registered applicants are:
- Tashkent city – 115,989
- Samarkand region – 72,305
- Fergana region – 66,383
- Kashkadarya region – 62,484
- Andijan region – 56,025
The exams will continue through July 23, spanning a total of 10 days.
