5,500 cybercrimes committed in Uzbekistan in 2023
Issues of cyber security were discussed at the meeting dedicated to the IT sector under the President.

Under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a meeting was held on the improvement of IT infrastructure, digitization of industries and sectors.
It noted the urgency of ensuring cyber security as the IT industry develops.
It is noted that 5,500 cybercrimes were committed in 11 months of 2023. Of these, 70 percent are fraud and theft crimes related to bank cards.
Today, there are about 50 payment systems in Uzbekistan, and it was noted that not all of them meet the requirements of cyber security.
Official ministries and agencies were instructed to develop and strictly monitor the implementation of uniform cyber security requirements for all electronic payment systems.
It was noted the importance of developing plans to increase the volume of IT services to 20 trillion soums, export to 800 million dollars, introduce 130 information systems in networks and fully digitize 750 state services.
